Fowler win at Florida Players Championship worth the wait
AMERICAN Ricky Fowler turned on the style to take out a thrilling playoff success at the Players Championship in Florida.
Fowler finished the final six holes at TPC Sawgrass six-under par to finish level on 12-under with fellow American Kevin Kisner and Spain's Sergio Garcia.
The tournament went to a three-way aggregate playoff with Garcia bowing out after the three holes.
Fowler and Kisner then went into sudden-death with the end coming on the signature hole, the 17th island green, when Fowler drilled his tee shot to within seven feet. Kisner two-putted from further away before the younger American sank his birdie for the win.
Australia's John Senden finished at eight-under after a decent final round but Adam Scott floundered.
Marc Leishman closed out his tournament on five-under where he was joined by Geoff Ogilvy.
Robert Allenby finished with a 73 to be even par.
