Former cop extradited on misappropriation of money charges

A FORMER Queensland Police Service officer has been extradited from Darwin to face misappropriation of money charges in Brisbane.

Daniel Allan Baker, who served as a sergeant in the Mount Isa Police District, resigned from his role in March prior to the commencement of disciplinary action, The NT News reports.

A QLD Police spokesman said officers from the Queensland Police Service's Ethical Standards Command extradited the former officer from the NT on Wednesday.

He will face charges in relation to the misappropriation of money collected by the Queensland Police Service on behalf of other government agencies, and is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
