IPSWICH continues to open its heart for fire victims Emma Murphy and her daughter Charlotte.

The mum and daughter lost everything in a house fire in Ipswich on Saturday night but will have new accommodation within the week and their new abode will be full of household goods thanks to the city's giving spirit.

Fiona Clark, a friend of Ms Murphy's for over 10 years, created a My Cause fund raising page where $5000 has been raised.

The outpouring of support for Emma and her daughter Charlotte has been overwhelming.

"We have been blown away by everybody's generosity," she said.

"I cannot believe the community spirit of the people out at Ipswich.

"I put the thing online thinking I might get $500 or $600 from mutual mates but it has skyrocketed.

"River 94.9 picked the story up and ran it on their breakfast show and the QT has done a great job reporting it at your end.

"We have had offers of beds, bedding, a fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer. I am convinced the household goods are sorted."

Ms Murphy, who is staying at Runcorn with Ms Clark, is set to move into a home next door to the house that burned down.

"Shannon from the Kooky Kids Clinic...has offered it to Emma for two months free of charge with all utilities," Ms Clark said.

"The only thing we need is a long-term housing solution."
