Fire crews called to Chinchilla house fire

QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services have been called to a house-fire in Chinchilla tonight.

A QFES spokesperson said crews received a call at approximately 9.15pm on Sunday night from Chinchilla Police to attend a house-fire on Hypatia St.

The spokesperson said the fire was initially confined to a car on the property before moving to the house via the patio that had been adjacent to the vehicle.

By the time fire crews arrived at the scene the fire within the structure was well involved.

An hour after receiving the call, most fire crews had left the scene after extinguishing the fire, while one remained to check for "hot spots".

It is understood no one was home at the time of the blaze.
