Fight night

GET ready for the biggest fight night Gympie has seen.

Billy Degoumois' new gym K6 Fight and Fitness on Hall Rd will host a Billy the Kid Fight Night tomorrow unlike any seen before.

Expect skimpy models holding fight cards, from Absolute Street, a full bar and DJ as well as some great action in the ring.

Four local fighters, some who have never fought before and others more experienced, will take on others from around the state.

The main event will see Billy's top fighter Jesse James Clarke take on a Brisbane fighter known as Reen from Corporate Box Gym.

Clarke, who just turned 17 four days ago, has three fights under his belt. "I'm pretty confident," he said.

All he knows about his opponent is that Reen is 20 and he is fighting in the 69kg category.

Reen has had one fight and one win in his career.

Clarke has been training with world-champ Degoumois for three years "hard" and the two years before that "on and off".

"I've known Billy all my life. He's a bit of an inspiration, how could he not be."

A highlight will be the Cats v Devils bout, where a player from each code will go head to head.

Tickets can be purchased from the door or at Billy's Hotel before Saturday - doors open at the Hall Rd gym at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
