Fight at Show leads to court

ARRESTED after a fight broke out in Sideshow Alley at the Gympie Show, on May 13, Joshua Steven Archer said he didn't deserve a criminal charge.

Police said Archer, 19, refused to move on and raised his fists at them but he said, “I didn't have my fists raised… I turned around and said ‘I didn't do anything' and (the officer) arrested me for it.”

Archer, of Oxley Court, Southside, was fined $100 in Gympie Magistrates Court for contravening a direction to move on.

“When the police are around just get out of there,” Magistrate Maxine Baldwin warned him.
