Fevola could visit Gympie
STAR new recruit to the Brisbane Lions Brendan Fevola is hoped to be one of a number of Lions’ players coming to Gympie next year.
Fevola, if confirmed, will join a number of his team mates for a special sign on being held by Gympie AFL in conjunction with AFL Sunshine Coast.
The sign on will take place on February 4 and will involve a sausage sizzle where young players will relish the opportunity to rub shoulders with their idols.
Gympie junior AFL organiser Jason Bromilow said he was excited about the high profile players coming to Gympie.
“It’s big for Gympie and massive opportunity for our club,” he said. “The kids will really enjoy it.”
Securing the Brisbane Lions’ players will help Gympie AFL kick off what is tipped to be a bumper year in 2010.
