Gold Rush Festival to get a hand with trivia
THE annual Gold Rush Festival Trivia Night will be held at the Gympie RSL on Friday.
Gold Rush president Jan Collins said this week the cost of holding the festival was met each year through donations, raffles, fundraising, grants and, now, a festival business arm.
"We have established a business arm of Gold Rush to help other associations on a fee-for-service basis, where we offer bookkeeping services, resume writing, production of small posters and meeting room hire and our events ticketing system - Gympie Tick," Mrs Collins said.
"With our extended office space and ease of access and our office situated in a prominent area of the CBD, Gympie Tick will offer a professional ticketing outlet for organisations holding events throughout the year; a ticket selling service in a one-stop shop.
"As the vendor of your ticket sales, Gold Rush would charge 5% commission of total ticket sales. With community volunteers becoming harder to find for all organisations, our service would make the ticket selling task hassle-free by reconciling money and tickets for events.
"Our booking agency aims to eliminate the stress in any way possible for organising community events.
"The other exciting announcement is that the Gympie Senior Citizens Centre has transferred the Broadband for Seniors contact to Gold Rush to be the host kiosk.
"This is as free service for all seniors over 55 years to learn computer skills.
