Father's Day gift the best ever

SUNDAY was just Stephen Ballard's second Father's Day but he got a present he doesn't think will ever be beaten.

A brand new son.

Stephen and his partner Nikki were recovering from their daughter Lily's first birthday party (held Saturday) on Sunday when contractions started just before lunch time.

They were a little surprised by the onset of labour because the baby wasn't due for another couple of weeks.

Nikki said as soon as she started getting pains in the back she knew what was about to happen.

Less than three hours later, at 2.45pm, Lynkon was born.

Weighing in at a healthy 3.2kg the pair was delighted with the new arrival.

"I didn't expect when I woke up that we would have a baby that day," Stephen said.

He said he was over the moon with the new addition to his family. "I couldn't get a better present for Father's Day and I was hoping for a boy too," he said.
