70-year-old motorcyclist killed in highway crash

A 70-year-old motorcyclist is dead after his bike struck the back of a car while travelling along a Queensland highway on Sunday morning.

Police believe the rider was travelling along the D'Aguilar Highway when at 10.50am, his bike ran into the back of a vehicle near the Esk-Kilcoy Road intersection at Woolmar.

The 72-year-old driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

The rider was declared dead at the scene. The fatality is being investigating by the Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit.
