Expo finds key to jobs

THE Australian Government Jobs and Skills Expo is coming to Gympie on Friday, bringing with it hundreds of local job and skills training opportunities for jobseekers in the region.

Minister for Employment Participation Kate Ellis encourages jobseekers, employers and training and educational organisations in the Gympie, South Burnett and Maryborough regions to get involved in the expo, which is part of the government's $3 billion 'Building Australia's Future Workforce' package.

The Jobs and Skills Expo will be held at the Pavilion Conference and Reception Centre, Gympie Showgrounds on Friday from 10am-3pm.

Since October 2009, the 50 Jobs and Skills expo held across Australia have connected more than 19,000 people with employment and many thousands more with skills training opportunities.

Those interested in exhibiting at the Australian Government Jobs and Skills Expo in Gympie should call 131 158 or visit the website at humanservices.gov.au/expos.
