Sunshine Coast launch for Mercedes-AMG GT S
A SPECIAL car deserves a special place to be revealed.
The venue was Buderim's renowned Bowden's Own car collection facility, and here invited Sunshine Coast guests could get their first glimpse at the brutal yet beautiful Mercedes-AMG GT S.
The twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 grand tourer good for 375kW and 650Nm has just gone on sale in Australia, and Mercedes-Benz Sunshine Coast celebrated the occasion in some style.
"A small group of clients were privileged to see the Bowden's collection before the launch of the GT S," said Amelia Gray from Mercedes-Benz Sunshine Coast. "Bowden's is an exclusive place with plenty of race cars, which fits well with this style of car."
Ms Gray reported plenty of interest among the gathered clients, with a number test driving the $294,000 sports car the following day.
"Just before it was unveiled we snuck someone into the car and fired it up as the covers came off," Ms Gray said. "Let's just say that went down pretty well."
Despite the exclusive nature of the car, and its price tag, Ms Gray is hopeful there'll be at least a couple of local sales of the new GT S.
