Everyone has a bit of talent

IT’S time to practise your hidden talents and prepare to let them shine at this year’s Gympie’s Got Talent quest.

Apart from being able to take to the stage and getting your 15 minutes of fame, you’ll have the chance to win your share of $1500 in prizes.

And entering is easy. Simply fill in a registration form and hand it into Centro Gympie centre management and head down to Centro Gympie for the heats on July 22, 29 and August 5 from 6.30pm.

The grand final is at the Civic Centre on Saturday, August 14.

The less gifted can still get involved by cheering on your family and friends, or just head down and check out Gympie’s talented residents.

Centro marketing manager Matthew Owen said last year’s competition had a big variety of entertaining entrants.

He encouraged anyone who thought they had the talent to get up and have some fun on the stage.

“It’s similar to X Factor and Australia’s Got Talent,” he said.

Money raised through the $10 registration fee will be donated to a worthy charity, Mr Owen said.

The Brekkie Klub is this year’s charity of choice. It provides breakfast to school children in the region to help them fulfil their potential.

Individuals and groups can get involved whether it is circus acts, ventriloquism, signing or comedy. Call 5482 9840 for more information.
