Man escapes police custody

A MAN escaped from police custody at the Kingaroy District Court yesterday.

Police are currently searching for the 36-year-old who escaped while being escorted from the watch house to the courthouse.

He was placed in a locked room with his solicitor around 10.15am before his court appearance, where his handcuffs were removed.

Just prior to appearing in court, he escaped through a window in the room on the second floor of the courthouse and ran from the location.

He is currently facing property and vehicle theft offences. He was wearing blue jeans, a grey shirt and red thongs.

He is not considered dangerous, however police ask people not to approach him and call the Kingaroy Police Station on 4160 4900 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
