Enduro event set to draw over 600 trail riders to region

ENDURO fanatics will thrash the throttle in next month's Gympie Enduro X and Trail Ride event.

Hosted by Motorcycling Queensland, with support from Gympie Regional Council, the event will be held on May 4-5.

With over 600 competitors expected to take to the track, Kilkivan will see an influx of local and not-so-local riders gather at their bush camping park.

A Motorcycling Queensland spokesman said the event would attract people from all over the country to ride in the high status event.

Free camping facilities are available to all riders which will have hot showers and barbecues.

The track will open at 10am on the Saturday and 9am on the Sunday with all riders required to attend briefings 15 minutes prior to riding.

Motorcycling Queensland reminds all riders that they must have an MA license, which can be purchased on the day at the registration tent and Entree fees vary from 15$ to $80.

There will also be a

giveaway on the Sunday morning to all riders that received an entry draw for nominating.

Gympie Regional Council deputy mayor Tony Perrett said the event would provide a great opportunity to promote the region - not just nationally, but also to the world.

The event is currently looking for sponsors to help out the community and receive some welcome publicity.

Corporate, gold and platinum sponsorship opportunities are available, with sponsor benefits including local, national and international exposure, recognition in print, online, television and radio coverage and promotions, and logo, banner and signage display at the event.

"Our business sponsors will be publicly recognised for supporting the growth, development and promotion of our wonderful region," Cr Perrett said.

"The 2013 Gympie Enduro X will also feature some of our own championship level riders, providing them with valuable experience competing at a higher level."
