Eclipse’s good news for valley

IT LOOKS like Eclipse Metals is getting quite excited about the prospect of mining manganese in the Mary Valley.

An announcement by the company to the Australian Stock Exchange yesterday said they are proceeding on to the next step in exploration in area just 14km from Gympie.

Their initial investigations found "significant deposits" in the Valley in areas mined back in the 1920s and 1960s.

The company will now investigate further with aerial and ground geophysical surveys.

The news sounds like another positive step in the re-invigoration of the Mary Valley.

Hopefully if all goes to plan and strict environmental concerns are met, we will have another growth industry in the Valley. With the planned $60 million quarter horse development, things are looking up for the region.
