Eagles home in Hobart thriller

A CLASSIC performance by Dean Cox saw West Coast beat North Melbourne by two points in a thrilling game at Bellerive Oval on Saturday.

The Eagles trailed by as much as 35 points at one point, then controlled much of the second half, but a brave North pushed them all the way before losing 12.14 (86) to 13.6 (84).

The Eagles' Will Schofield told Grandstand that his team-mates had lifted of their own accord after half-time without a harsh team talk from coach John Worsfold.

"Our run probably lifted and a few individual efforts probably helped us get up," Schofield said.

"I thought Coxy was outstanding, (Daniel) Kerr played really well and (Matthew) Priddis was as usual really hard in at the footy."
