Liv Young Duo’s breakthrough year
LIV YOUNG Duo's Olivia Nolan and Talisha Young must be happy with the year they have had.
After much success, the young vocalists will see 2012 out with a bang as they take to the stage at the New Year's Eve Family Fun Night at Gympie's Nelson Reserve.
Among a line-up of live entertainment including Emma Barlow, Melinda Austin, Jess & Jem Fox and Grace Sleeman, the pair will showcase their harmonic voices that have been taking them far and wide.
The Duo won Gympie's Got Talent 2012 and competed in several competitions throughout the year, resulting in acceptance and high scores at the Champion of Champions Queensland Country Music Competition this year. The pair also got a taste of large crowds when they performed on the Spotlight Stage at this year's Country Music Muster and the 2012 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
As members of the AICM performance program, the Gympie State High School students have their sights set on Tamworth 2013.
AICM performance tutor Karen Thomson said the girls were sure of success in the industry.
"Their voices just seem to blend, sometimes when you get sisters you can get the tones that they get, but even just being mates, they have developed this combination of tones and harmonies that is quite exquisite," she said.
They're quite special actually. I do think if they continue they will experience success in all genres of music."
