Drumroll for Gympie West's top little Aussies

RITA O'Neil and her drumming group added a special beat to Gympie West State School's Aussie of the Month presentations.

Students and staff were thrilled to have a drumming presentation by these very talented performers.

Mrs O'Neil spoke to the students about kindness, telling them it was very important to be kind to other children, staff and adults.

Aussie of the Month award winners were:

PREP: Sullivan Cook - Sullivan is a friendly and enthusiastic Prep L class member. She loves learning new things, participates keenly in all activities and is a delight to have in our classroom. Keep being amazing!

Year 1: Scott Ellis - Scott is a kind, considerate and co-operative member of Gympie West. Scott comes every day with a beautiful smile and an eagerness to learn. He strives to try his best at all his learning. Scott is always willing to help both adults and others students. Scott shows care and friendship towards all his classmates. Well done Scott.

Year 4: Jasmine McConville - Jasmine is a dedicated, friendly student who continually strives to do her very best. She always contributes ideas and answers during class discussions and is a valuable role model for her peers. She has made a great start to 2017 and we challenge her to continue to strive for her very best.

Year 5: Jacoby Marquett - Jacoby shows a real eagerness to learn. He approaches learning tasks with a positive attitude and always tries his best, both in the classroom and out. Jacoby is a joy to be around as he never complains, has a go at everything and leads by example by making the right choices. Jacoby is kind and helpful. Without prompting, he will offer to help his classmates. Jacoby brightens up our classroom with his cheerful smile. Jacoby is a wonderful role model to his peers. Keep up all the wonderful things you are doing, Jacoby.

Year 5: Jasmine Hunt - Jasmine is a reliable student who engages in all learning activities. Jasmine is an excellent member of the school community, a great role model and a dedicated member of the Litter Critters Squad.

Year 6: Thomas Schefe - Thomas always demonstrates co-operation, respect and common sense. The contributions he makes in class are always well thought through and highly valued by all. Thomas is a kind and thoughtful classmate who consistently works very hard to complete all tasks that have been set in class and willingly offers assistance to others. Well done Thomas, you need to be congratulated on the standard you have set for yourself and the enthusiasm and effort you demonstrate to others.
