Drug-driving with kids in vehicle

DRUG-DRIVING with kids in the car landed Tayla-Jade Vincente Fodera in Mackay Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to one count each of driving without a licence and drug-driving after police caught her behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry on Oasis Drive, North Mackay on July 29.

The court heard two small children were in the back of the vehicle when police intercepted Fodera, who was driving with meth and cannabis in her system and whose licence had expired in October 2016.

Magistrate Damien Dwyer issued a $1200 fine and disqualified her from driving for five months.
