Ipswich man identified as victim of fatal truck crash
LATEST: A man has died in a traffic crash west of Ipswich this morning.
Police say his truck rolled and hit a number of trees after he failed to navigate a bend while travelling along Atkinson Dam Rd at Buaraba about 9.10am.
The 48-year-old from Toogoolawah was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Fears for driver trapped in truck, chopper called in
UPDATE: Paramedics are still waiting to get access to a badly injured truck driver, whose vehicle has crashed near Atkinson Dam.
Queensland Ambulance Service says the man is trapped in the cabin of the truck and has multiple serious injuries.
The Rescue 500 chopper is expected to land at the crash site about 10am, and firefighters are also on scene to try to free the stricken man.
The crash was reported on Atkinson Dam Rd, Buaraba, about 9.10am.
Police have closed the road in both directions.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
EARLIER: A man is injured and trapped in the cabin of his overturned truck, which crashed west of Ipswich this morning.
Paramedics were called to the accident on Atkinson Dam Rd, Atkinson Dam about 9.10am.
The extent of the man's injuries is not known at this stage.
Queensland Ambulance services says it is likely a chopper will be called in to transport the man once he is free.
