Driver on run on M1 arrested in NSW

A DRIVER who swerved through peak hour traffic on the M1 has been arrested after being followed by police for about 90 minutes.

The driver was arrested in Brunswick Heads in NSW, after originally speeding away from officers at Coomera on the Gold Coast about 5pm.

A NSW Police spokesman said one man was taken into custody about 6.35pm.

Earlier, the black BMW was heading towards Brisbane, reaching speeds of 140km/h, before the driver decided to leave the motorway and re-enter using a south-bound ramp.

He then headed towards NSW, with footage from Nine News showing him weaving through traffic with lights off.
