Drink driver rams car through fence

A FORD Falcon ended up in the front yard of a property on Old Maryborough Rd, Thursday night, after the driver allegedly drank too much alcohol.

Police were called to the scene at 8pm to discover a male driver, 36, had driven through a front fence and came to a stop in a house yard.

The man was taken to Gympie Police Station where he was breath tested, recording a blood alcohol content of .15%.

He was charged with driving while above the BAC limit and was immediately suspended from driving pending the outcome of court.

Another driver was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time she crashed her car on Rocks Rd near The Palms.

A Suzuki Swift rolled off the road about 11pm and the female driver, 46, was injured, requiring an ambulance to take her to Gympie Hospital.

She was unable to give specimen of breath due to rib injuries and a blood specimen was to be obtained from her by hospital staff.

With the school holidays at an end, police warn all drivers to take extra care.
