THE Queensland Government  is providing $3.7 million over five years to CQUniversity's Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research.

The Mackay-based centre undertakes vital family abuse research, particularly in the area of indigenous families.

The announcement was made a short time ago during the launch of the country's first domestic violence post-graduate course.
