Dog limping with claw trap

WOLVI'S Margaret Kleier wants to warn residents that animal traps are being used in the area.

Driving into town yesterday about 8.30am along Wolvi-Kin Kin Rd between Tristan Bath Rd and the Wilson's Pocket turn-off she saw a light-coloured dog limping with a claw trap on its leg.

"If there were no cars behind me I would have stopped," she said.

Gympie Council's lands protection manager Ben Curley said there were wild dogs in the area and rubber traps were legal and used by landholders.

He said anyone who saw the dog should phone the RSPCA.
