Bundaberg Rum Distillatorium a new Muster experience
A NEW venue at the Gympie Muster this year, replacing the old wine bar, is the Tanker and the Bundaberg Rum Distillatorium.
The site comprises four converted shipping containers, two of which house an eatery and coffee shop and the other two are the distillatorium.
The containers sit around a central outdoor seating area where people can enjoy their rum of choice, or perhaps a coffee and something to eat.
The Bundaberg Rum Distillatorium is jam packed with everything Bundaberg Rum, including of course, a life-size Bundaberg Rum white bear.
Visitors can enjoy rum tastings, check out the memorabilia, buy rum products and even get tips on different ways to enjoy drinking rum.
Gympie Regional Council tourism manager Andrew Saunders said Bundaberg Rum was a strong event partner of the Muster and the new site offered Muster patrons an enhanced experience.
Meanwhile, the weather had been kind and the crowds were building, heading into the biggest day today.
"Ticket sales are up on last year," Mr Saunders said.
Most people camping on site would stay to late Sunday or Monday, and usually there was "a congo line of caravans" leaving Monday, he said.
