Devils looking for top spot

GYMPIE Devils' coach John Greensil is expecting a rough and tumble game against Caboolture tonight at Jack Stokes Oval.

He said Caboolture, who are top of the table, were a physical side and Gympie's in-form forward pack would have to be on their game to exert dominance over them.

Greensil is hoping the Devils can keep their winning streak going into the back end of the season.

If the Devils were to win it could see them sit back on top of the Sunshine Coast/Gympie Rugby League table. At worst they would be in second spot.

The only negatives for today's match are the loss of Tim Wyvil and Shaun Potter. Wyvil, who plays centre, is out for about six weeks after rolling his ankle in last week's win over Nambour 38-20.

Greensil has moved Kane Ernst into the centres and the ever-green Darren Burns comes off the bench into the second row.

A boost for the Devils is the return of Craig Marshall to five- eighth. Marshall moves Shaun Wilson back to the hooker role and Mitch Heaton is back on the bench. Trent Lovett will replace Potter on the wing.

Greensil said the return of Marshall would be a great help for the Devils. “He will be a big help,” he said.

Game times: 3.15pm under-18s, Reserve 4.45pm, A Grade 6.30pm.

TEAM LIST: 1. Jake Harney, 2. Trent Lovett, 3. Ben Ashford, 4. Kane Ernst, 5.Ben Santowski, 6. Craig Marshall, 7. Dave Cutler, 8. Adam Starr, 9. Shaun Wilson, 10. Riley McDowall, 11.
