Devils back to training

A GOOD roll up of 24 Devils has been turning up for pre-season training at Jack Stokes Oval improving their fitness for the 2012 season.

Gympie Devils President Jim Bougoure said the Devils had finalised their roster for 2012 and were sticking with a home grown group of players.

"The team is looking good," Bougoure said. "We are building it around our big four. Flemo, Billy, Riley and Kris."

He said the team had kept speedy outside back Ben Ashford and Danny McMah while Dave Cutler was back on board as halfback.

They have lost Jacob Harney but big brother Ben will be a welcome addition to the team after overcoming last season's injury

"We expect a big year from the likes of Shaun Wilson," Bougoure said.

"The beauty is he can cover any position from back row to play maker."

The Devils will play their first game away at Nambour on March 17. The match is earlier this year after the league extended the season to allow the teams to complete two full rounds. The first home game will be against Noosa, March 24.
