A Deception Bay woman charged with making counterfeit money

DETECTIVES from the Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two people after locating counterfeit $50 notes in Woody Point yesterday.

As a result of a search warrant executed at an Alfred Street address police will allege that a quantity of counterfeit money as well as equipment and tools used in the production of counterfeit notes was located.

A 34-year-old Woody Point man has been charged with five counterfeit related charges including making and possessing counterfeit money and is due to appear at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.

A 19-year-old Deception Bay woman has also been charged with five counterfeit related charges including making and possessing counterfeit money. She is scheduled to appear at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on May 11.

Police are asking local businesses in the Moreton Bay area to be vigilant when taking notes over the counter.

Investigations are continuing.
