Day two of trial for accused drug dealer, jury still waiting

FOR the second successive day the jury in accused Mary Valley meth dealer Craig Cant's trial left without hearing any evidence.

It is yet to hear opening arguments in the trial, which is expected to take more than a month to complete.

Lawyers are continuing to deal with preliminary matters before the lengthy trial can begin in front of the jurors.

Mr Cant has pleaded not guilty in Brisbane Supreme Court to trafficking methylamphetamine, eight counts of supplying meth and two counts of producing cannabis.

The offences are alleged to have occurred in Tansey and Brisbane.
