AFTER a meeting yesterday afternoon to discuss the state and availability of cricket grounds around Gympie, the Gympie Cricket Association has decided to cancel all regular A-grade and reserve-grade cricket fixtures for this weekend, but not the A-grade final.

While Albert Park will be ready in time for play by Gympie Gold XI on Saturday, however One Mile Oval will not be up to standard for the weekend's fixtures.

The cancellations include the game scheduled to be played this weekend at Tin Can Bay.

Due to the cancellation, teams will miss the first day of play for the two-day game that was set to begin at the weekend, so these games will be reverted to a one-day game to be played on February 16. The cancellations will not include the A-grade T25 final at Albert Park on Saturday night.

Colts and Harlequins will play in the final at Albert Park from 6pm.

The reserve-grade T25 final will be between Tin Can Bay and Wests and is set for Saturday, March 3, at Albert Park from 6.30pm. Gympie's annual Pink Stumps McGrath Foundation Charity 20/20 game will be at Albert Park on Saturday, February 23, from 6.45pm.

The match will again see Gympie Gold XI take on the Gympie Devils for some friendly local rivalry and a good cause.

There will be a free jumping castle for the young ones and a fireworks display.
