Dalby twins get a House Rules reno

LUKE and Cody Cook will soon go from having the worst house on the street to the best one thanks to House Rules.

The Dalby twins handed over the keys to Luke's 1940s weatherboard home on Channel 7's renovation show on Monday.

"I was really excited to hand over Luke's house keys," Cody laughed.

"We knew what the teams could achieve. If they just follow the house rules then it's going to be an amazing house.

"Really from what it starts off as, anything is going to be an improvement. Even if they just gave it a lick of paint then I'll be rapt."

Homeowner Luke, who has a $120,000 mortgage, said he wasn't worried about entrusting the makeover of his charming old house to the other House Rules teams.

Despite peeling paint, questionable plumbing and having to do their laundry on the back veranda, Luke still reckons the house is a "cracker".

"I've got full faith in them and I hope they enjoy themselves and have fun, but not too much fun," he said.

"There are a lot of things that need changing in the house. The contestants just need to keep in mind we're two blokes but down the track there might be a family there."

The generous brothers surprised Adelaide couple Michelle and Brooke, who are camping out in their yard after finishing last, with a fridge stocked full of cold beers.

"We came into the competition not wanting to change who we are as people," Cody said.

"When this is done we still want to be the same two country blokes that we are."

House Rules continues tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
