Isis Mill crush season will end on Monday

THE 2013 season is drawing to a close with crushing operations at Isis Mill expected to end on Monday.

This year's crop is expected to produce about 1,170,000 tonnes, which is well down on the pre-season estimate of 1,300,000 tonnes and is around 335,000 tonnes less than the 2012 record crush of 1,505,000 tonnes.

Planned maintenance, including factory cleaning occurred during the week.

This resulted in reduced throughput for week 17 with 56,832.84 tonnes processed.CCS continued to increase reaching 15.51 units for the week.

There were many good individual CCS results from across the district.

The dry spell continues and irrigation is now essential to maximise growth of recently germinated plant blocks and the young ratoons.

Growers are also advised that a total fire ban is now in place. Permits previously issued are no longer valid.
