Crows demolish Port Adelaide

ADELAIDE displayed stamina, courage and far too much class to put Port Adelaide to the sword by 58 points in Showdown XXXIII at Football Park on Saturday night.

In a nightmare scenario for the Power, their home game was turned into a Crows celebration as Adelaide kicked eight goals to four in the second half to win 17.14 (116) to 8.10 (58).

Adelaide got the jump on its cross-town rival, kicking five goals to two in the opening term, but the game then turned into a war of attrition.

Crows spearhead Kurt Tippett went down to the rooms after clashing heads with Port Adelaide's Tom Logan.

Then in the second quarter another Adelaide tall was injured, as Shaun McKernan went off the ground with a suspected fractured cheekbone.
