Crash closes highway lane at Glenwood

TAIRO police, a Gympie fire truck and Gympie ambulance attended a single vehicle rollover on the Bruce Hwy at Glenwood, near the Arborten Rd turnoff yesterday.

Gympie fire station officer Tony Scott said the accident occurred about 1.30pm.

The two men in the vehicle received minor injuries and the two dogs they had with them were okay.

"The dogs were real happy to see us," Mr Scott said.

A doctor stopped to help at the scene and was treating the two men when the ambulance arrived, Mr Scott said.

The passenger was taken to Gympie Hospital for observation, and the driver got a lift back to town in the tow truck - with the two dogs. Police cordoned off the southbound lane of the highway for about 45 minutes after the accident.

It is not yet known what caused the accident.
