Call for witnesses after boy charged with violent robbery

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly robbing another teenager at a Sunshine Coast park.

Senior Constable Nic Van der Matt from Noosa Police Station said the boy allegedly threatened the 16 year old with a knife at Tewantin about 4pm on Monday.

The alleged victim handed over clothing and jewellery at Memorial Park, near the RSL, before the boy hopped on a bus to Noosa Heads.

"About 45 minutes later police received information that the boy was spotted at Noosa Woods," Sen Constable Van der Matt said.

"He was arrested without incident.

"He was in possession of the alleged stolen items."

The boy was known to the alleged victim.

He was charged with robbery, possessing a knife in a public place, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing a graffiti implement.

The boy appeared at Maroochydore Children's Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody until January 20.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the alleged incident or the teenagers at Memorial Park.
