Foodies fight it out for contract

FROM pork belly and potato gratin to a humble piece of toast, foodies are increasingly transferring their dining experience from table to tablet.

Nine of the country's best amateur cooks will converge on the Sunshine Coast for the final stages of Gourmet Garden's Blog Off-Cook Off search for Australia's best food blogger-turned-chef.

They will be joined by celebrity chefs, including the 2012 My Kitchen Rules winners, Sammy and Bella (pictured).

The finalists arrived at Gourmet Garden headquarters at Palmwoods yesterday for a three-day conference on the back of the Good Food and Wine Shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Other guests include Dominique Rizzo and 4 Ingredients author Kim McCosker, who will join the group on a foodie tour from Noosa to Palmwoods and then on a Woodford walking tour of a mushroom farm.

Then they will enjoy a mushroom and herb-themed feast by the MKR girls.

Spicers Tamarind Resort at Maleny will play host to the final cook-off.

Gourmet Garden, launched in 1999, has grown from a small, privately owned Australian company to a burgeoning global success story.

The cook-off grand final prize includes $2000 as well as a 12-month ambassadorship contract with Gourmet Garden, allowing the winner to work in a professional environment as well as influence future brand developments and products.
