Concert boosts Gympie’s morale

GYMPIE celebrated its recovery following two major floods earlier this year with the Rise and Shine Queensland Tour at the weekend.

The event took place at Nelson Reserve Saturday and showers, a reminder of the wet start to the year, failed to dampen the spirits of those turning out to enjoy the magic of live music.

The tour was headlined by Australian country music royalty Gina Jeffreys and is snaking its way across the state, visiting a total of 10 communities.

Programmed by Queensland Music Festival artistic director James Morrison, the tour hopes to reward communities for their resilience.
