Youth centre meeting: A public meeting to ascertain the feasibility of a co-operative style youth centre will be held at the Gympie Civic Centre on Tuesday, November 10 at 6pm. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. Inquiries Youth in Action 0412 829 886.   

Dementia support: Gympie Alzheimer's/Dementia Support Group will meet on Tuesday, November 10 at Blue Care, Smerdon Rd, at 10am. All carers, sufferers and other interested people are welcome. The group provides information, support and an opportunity to discuss issues. Morning tea is provided and confidentiality is assured. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month. Cooloola Voices: Learn to sing a cappella - that's voices only. Cooloola Voices A Cappella Choir sings every Tuesday evening in Gympie. Email Andrew andrewjemmet@gmail.com or phone 5474 1498 for details.   

Bosom Buddies: Breast Cancer Support group Bosom Buddies meets for a cuppa at Chatz Cafe, 173 Old Maryborough Rd, Gympie, on the second Tuesday of the month, at 10am. The group provides support, information and friendship to any women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their carers and supporters. Come along and stay as long as you like. Wolvi playgroup: Meets in Wolvi & District War Memorial Hall, 1358 Kin Kin Rd, second Tuesday of the month, 9.30-11.30am. Bubs and children of all ages. Toys and equipment supplied. Playground, music and fun activities for the kids. Bring a piece of fruit to share for morning tea and meet with other families in the local area. Parents, grandparents, friends, carers welcome.

Cancer support group: Partners of men with cancer support group meets on the second Tuesday monthly, at 10am, at Little Haven Palliative Care, Henry St. Enjoy a cuppa and chat in a social and sharing morning. Inquiries Les 5482 1691 or Susan 5484 5229.  

Gympie Mahjong Group: Meets Tuesdays at the Gympie RSL in Mary St from 10am-3pm. The group teaches beginners how to play according to the rules of Western mahjong. Inquiries Judy 5482 4767.  


Gympie Trefoil Guild: The annual general meeting of the Gympie Trefoil Guild will be held at the Gympie Guide Home, Shank St, Gympie, at 9.30am for a 10am start on Wednesday, November 11. Guest speaker will be 'Moose' from The Military Brotherhood Inc and chairperson will be Ruth Stephan. New members are welcomed to attend. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at locations which will be advised.  

Spinners and Weavers: Gympie Spinners and Weavers meets 6.30-9.30pm Wednesday nights at the Landcare offices, Groves Rd, Gympie. Experienced and beginner fibre artists welcome for spinning, weaving, felting, knitting, crocheting. Inquiries Connie 0407 155 904.   

Little Haven garage sales: Every Wednesday, 8am-noon, Chapple St shed (opposite MVHR workshop). Sheds are open for sales and to receive pre-loved items. Good range of furniture at reasonable prices. Delivery can be arranged. Cost negotiated. Proceeds to Little Haven Palliative Care. Inquiries 5482 9091.  

Trivia night: Every Wednesday, hosted by DJ Roly at the Gympie RSL to raise money for Camp Quality. Lots of prizes to be won between 7-9pm. Registration fee $5. Inquiries Michael 0407 588 835.

Health checks: Clinic 87 visits Gympie every Wednesday to provide free sexual health checks for men and women. Drop in to Gympie General Hospital, 10am-2pm, or phone 54705244 for an appointment.  

Gympie Gem Club: Make your own silver jewellery; cut and polish stones; faceting of gem stones and silvercasting. Visitors and new members welcome. Club house, cnr Bruce Hwy and Monkland St, is open Wednesdays 9am-3pm and 6.30-9.30pm. Inquiries 5484 0080 or 5482 4680.

Bingo: Come and play bingo at the Gympie Junior Rugby League clubhouse every Thursday to raise funds for Gympie's next crop of league players. Doors open 8.30am with eyes down from 9.30. Games finish about midday. The Gympie Junior Rugby League Clubhouse is located in Smith St, Monkland.  

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13   Older Womens Network: Meets for craft on Friday, November 14 at 9.15am at St John Amublance Hall, Apollonian Vale.  

Labour Women: Labor Women and Friends are invited to attend coffee and chat mornings, every second Friday of the month at the new venue of MiCakes opposite Westpac Bank in Mary St, Gympie. Fourth Friday of the month get-togethers are still at Zesty Edibles, Gunabul Homestead, 9 Power Rd. Both are at 9.30am. Next get together is Friday, November 13 at MiCakes.
