The region's rising colts and their mentors will receive some timely tips ahead of the rugby union season as some of the best in the country share their knowledge.

A number of Queensland Reds, and Wallabies, will descend on the Coast over the next three days for the second 'Reds to Regions' tour.

They'll host a number of junior clinics and partake in local tourist activities, with local families to billet the players.

Fraser McReight, Brandon Paenga-Amosa, Sam Wallis and Kalani Thomas are among the Reds talents to visit the Coast.

Among their various junior clinics, the Reds will host a special training session for Colts and senior rugby coaches on Wednesday night at Caloundra Rugby Club.

Reds defence coach Michael Todd and attack coach Jim Mackay will run the session alongside their star players.

"It will allow all our senior club's coaches on the Coast a great opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills as coaches and also improve the player's knowledge and skills as players," Sunshine Coast Rugby Union board member Rick Archer said.

"It's a great chance for our up and coming stars to be coached by Queensland and Australia's best and rub shoulders with Queensland and Wallabies stars."

He said colts were an important age group to nurture, with players transitioning from their junior days into senior life.

He was hopeful those in attendance would garner new motivation to lift their game.

"It (session) will give (colts) some inspiration to see those guys and rub shoulders with them," he said.

"They're normal people but it gives them a sense of opportunity that if they put in the hard work they could get there themselves."

The colts session will run from 6-8pm on Wednesday.

All senior rugby coaches are welcome, with Colts aged 17-19 players to attend session.

Training Clinic for Sunshine Coast Colts (U19) players and coaches at

Caloundra Rugby Club. Present also will be Reds defence Coach

Michael Todd.
