HOCKEY: Gympie Hockey season ends today and tomorrow, with nail-biting grand-finals expected.

The youth boys grand final is this evening and youth girls to follow. The men's grand final followed by the women's ends the evening.

Tomorrow is the youngsters turn to shine with their grand finals and presentations afterward.

Regional coach director Ben Fitzpatrick said Saturday's games start at 10am, with plenty of activities to amuse the younger kids including face painting.

All finals are expected to be close with not many points separating the teams.

"They are pretty evenly matched right across the board," Fitzpatrick said.

"Hopefully we will be in for some exciting contests."

There will an end of year sale on hockey gear at the club, with junior presentation held in the afternoon.

The major club fundraiser and raffle - a Panasonic TV - will be drawn tonight, after the seniors game.

Membership was up this year, making it a successful season for the club. And rep teams did the club proud with many members progressing up to a high level in hockey this year.
