Chelsea edges Watford in seven-goal thriller

ENGLISH Premier League champion Chelsea has celebrated its title win in front of home fans with victory in a seven-goal thriller against Watford.

Cesc Fabregas, who came on as a substitute, scored in the 88th minute to seal the win at Stamford Bridge.

Blues skipper John Terry, who will leave the club at the end of the season, scored the opener in his 716th game for Chelsea.

Etienne Capoue equalised after 24 minutes, before Cesar Azpilicueta and Michy Batshuayi put Chelsea 3-1 up.

But Watford levelled through goals to Daryl Janmaat and Stefano Okaka, before Fabregas scored the winner.

The Hornets had Sebastian Prodl sent off for a second yellow card in stoppage time.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who made nine changes to his starting XI from the side that beat West Brom to clinch the title, said the club was now aiming to beat Sunderland in Sunday's final round to reach a record mark of 30 wins for the season.

"It's a big night because we won the title. I made a decision to make nine changes and give the chance to start a lot of young players. I must be pleased because the answer was very good," Conte told the BBC.

"We conceded three goals but we scored four and created many chances. The most important thing was we won. Now we have target to win 30 games."
