Charges mount up for extradited man

ACCUSED armed robber Ngtihe Lewis Pearce, 23, faced a list of 30 charges at Gympie Magistrates Court yesterday.

The Curra man addressed the court from the dock while in custody yesterday, after being extradited from the Northern Territory late last week.

The court heard of charges dating back to February.

Leading the list of charges read before the court was one count of armed robbery on April 5.

It is alleged Pearce stole a car from a woman at knifepoint just south of Gympie.

Pearce also faced several charges of stealing petrol from petrol stations at several locations including Woodgate, Gin Gin and Goomboorian.

Pearce was also charged with stealing as well as entering premises, including one at Bundaberg, with intent to commit an indictable offence and stealing a cars, including one at Miva.

He also faced numerous charges of driving without a licence at places including Millbank, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle at locations including Noosaville and failing to stop a vehicle for police on several occasions.

Pearce was also accused of possessing drugs and utensils in the form of cannabis and a conepiece.

No application for bail was made by Pearce.

He will return to Gympie Magistrates Court to face the charges on June 17.
