NEW executives were sworn into office at Tin Can Bay Coast Guard this week.

Outgoing commander Jim George wished the new executives all the best before handing the chair to Sunshine Coast squadron commodore Robin Hood for the swearing in.

The new commander is Harley Moss, deputy commander Steve Schaeffer-Steel, flotilla purser Mary Guyatt and flotilla administration officer Julie Hartwig.

Ian Sutton will continue in his role as flotilla training officer.

Following the appointments, new commander Harley Moss acknowledged the terrific job Jim George and his team had done over the past two-and-a-half years.

"The vibrant flotilla this new executive inherits is thanks to the ceaseless work from Jim and his team during his time in office," Mr Moss said.

"The new executive has big shoes to fill, but with the support of our members, the vital service we provide to our community will continue in the best spirit of the Coast Guard organisation."
