Changing faces of Gympie Times

EPISODES of the Bold and the Beautiful and the lively banter of The View panellists await Gympie Times' photographer Renee Pilcher as she embarks on maternity leave.

The mother-to-be will be swapping her camera bag and photo editing software for dirty nappies and sleepless nights from today as she prepares to welcome her little bundle of joy.

Expecting for the first time, Renee is on a whirlwind adventure ready to embrace motherhood.

But to fill in the time before giving birth, Renee's colleagues are convinced she will be taking it easy on the couch and finding out the latest on Ridge and Brooke's love tryst.

Renee claims she has no interest in the daytime TV soap but word on the street is the photographer has already secretly signed up for episode alerts on the internet.

Just don't ask her about Stephanie's recent passing.

Renee said she was looking forward to motherhood.

"I will miss my workmates but this is an exciting time for me," she said.

Stepping in for Renee is Tanya Easterby - known very well throughout Gympie for her community involvement.

Tanya brings to the role a wealth of knowledge about the region and has cut her teeth in the media industry having worked as a freelance photographer and journalist.

At a time of exciting changes for The Gympie Times, Tanya is keen to seize the opportunity and continue the newspaper's storytelling through compelling photographs.
