Chamber breakfast to focus on regional development
THE Gympie Chamber of Commerce July networking breakfast tomorrow morning will feature as its guest speakers the chairman and executive officer of Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett.
RDA is an Australian government initiative that brings together all levels of government to enhance the growth and development of Australia's regions - this is carried out through a national network of 55 RDA committees.
The committees build partnerships between governments, regional development organisations, local businesses, community groups and key regional stakeholders to provide strategic and targeted responses to economic, environmental and social issues affecting the regions.
Chamber president Ben Ellingsen said yesterday any Gympie region residents involved in any of those groups needed to know what it was the RDAWBB did so they could best utilise the network.
"Perhaps there is something you are missing out on," Mr Ellingsen said.
RDA Wide Bay Burnett covers Gympie, the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, North Burnett, South Burnett and Cherbourg.
The Chamber's breakfast event will take place in the Gympie RSL Orchid Room in Mary St from 7am tomorrow, for a 7.30am start.
RSVP to Mr Ellingsen by midday today by phoning 5370 2229 or 0415 414 034. Inquiries mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
