Top model Annie works her magic on the catwalk
GYMPIE beauty Annie Potter is in the running to be the Face of International Fashion Week 2013, after strutting the catwalk at the Sunshine Coast fashion extravaganza for the past two years.
Eighteen-year-old Annie is in the third year of her hairdressing apprenticeship with Hair Review in Mary St, and said yesterday she had wanted to be involved in the beauty industry since she was a little girl.
The former St Patrick's College student is the youngest daughter of Jean and Sel Potter.
Eleven young models are in the running to be the Face of International Fashion Week and director Jacinta Richmond said yesterday the nomination criteria was simple.
There are 11 talented models in the running, Anastasia Potter, Taylor McCall, Talisa Embleton, Rochelle Desainis, Antonina Rizzuto, Kirra Corbett, Shannon Guthrie, Shannon Bradley, Mille Stoevring, Aquila Bergstrom and Izaac Linden-Bolton (the only male).
"To be the face of International Fashion Week you must be over age 16 and have walked for International Fashion Week or the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival - as it was known from 2008 until the name change in 2012 - previously," she said.
"The hard part is selecting who the face will be.
"The decision rests with the director and the board of advisors.
"There is a lot at stake for this year's face. I'm not at liberty to disclose it yet, but it's pretty huge."
Annie "walked" for International Fashion Week in 2011 and 2012, and is described as having an "effortless stride" which "makes her a strong contender for the coveted role".
International Fashion Week 2013 will be held September 11-14, hosted by Palmer Coolum Resort.
