TWO men are in a critical condition after their car slid on wet roads and crashed side-on into an oncoming bus in Wilsonton.

Toowoomba artist Jason Anderson was walking along Kingsford Smith Dr towards Greenwattle St when he witnessed the crash about 1.45pm.

"They sped past me around the corner (down Kingsford Smith Dr)," he said.

"By the time I saw the bus coming, they were already sliding straight into it.

"I ran 200m down the road to the crash and people started coming out of their homes."

The impact happened on the corner of  Kingsford Smith Dr and Hinkler Cres.

Mr Anderson said the driver of the car, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered seizures after the collision.

Both he and his passenger were unconscious when paramedics arrived.

The woman driver of the bus had no passengers when the crash occurred.

Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations manager Russell Cooke said she was taken to Toowoomba Hospital for observation.
