Caleb repaints den

THE Goomeri Lions Den was given a much-needed facelift when local painter Caleb Weis and his crew volunteered their time and energy to get the job done.

With Gympie Regional Council supplying some of the paint and Caleb making up the shortfall, the little building tucked among the trees at the back of the sports oval looks as good as new.

What originally looked like a small job became a full-on effort as Caleb discovered several layers of old paint had not been removed.

He stepped up to the challenge, though, sanding back all the accumulated years of paint and grime to be able to apply a fresh coat on clean timber.

“I’m happy to give a little of my time and effort to local charity groups like the Lions.”
