Burnsy to talk footy at Men of League function
DARREN Burns will be the guest speaker at the first Men of League Gympie meeting for the year.
The meeting will be next Wednesday at the RSL. The night gets underway at 7pm but all members looking to attend the event are asked to be there by 6.30pm..
The $20 entry fee includes a light meal, two XXXX Gold beers and a ticket in the raffle.
Darren Burns (Burnsy) has played for three NRL clubs in his career, been coached by Phil Gould and Wayne Bennett and spent three years playing for Warrington in England.
When playing for Warrington he was Supporters' Player of the Year twice and in 1997 he was Souths Players' Player and Club Player of the Year.
Burns will be a part of a one on one interview on the night along with questions from the crowd.
Burns said not only will he be speaking about his NRL career but also what's changing with rugby league this year in Gympie and where the sport is heading.
